Child Diving

At Tropicalsub Diving, scuba diving is done from 8 years. We take the pleasure to help young people discover the joys divers scuba diving in a playful way.

Diving child applies to children aged 8 to 14 years. Some provisions apply to young divers. These define the level of practice diving, coaching levels and conditions of practice of this activity. The practice diving is prohibited for children when the water temperature is below 12°. The dive duration must not exceed 25 min if the water temperature is below 23°. It is important that the diving equipment is adapted to the morphology of the child, it is the same for items in the first aid kit.

 

What are the prerequisites:

- The practice of this activity requires prior written authorization of the legal guardian of the child.

- A medical examination of non-cons to scuba diving performed by a federal physician or audiologist. For the French curriculum, there is an exemption for children under 12 years of age who may come into training level 1 under certain conditions:

- The request must be made by the child and the parents in charge of the club. - The child must have a favorable opinion of the president of the club.

- The child must have a favorable medical certificate to the preparation and issuance of the certificate issued by a federal doctor, a physician or a sports doctor.

 

The PADI curriculum helps children diving from 8 years. PADI offers several levels of skills:-Bubblemaker (from 8 years): it's a 1st discovered the diving is done in the pool to a maximum depth of 2 m.  

-TeaJunior Diver Scuba Diver(+ 10 years): it is an introduction to the world of diving during which the instructor will explain the basics of diving and teach you to manage your equipment

 

  • Prerequisite: a minimum age of 10 years and the medical questionnaire

  • Duration: ½ day

  • Proceedings:  the course has 3 parts, a theoretical part, a part in environment to learn and practice the basic techniques of diving, then a sea diving in order to discover the marine life of the reef on the Leeward side.

  • Supervision: PADI instructor

 

 -theJunior Open Water(10-14 years):

It corresponds to the first level PADI Open Water Diver. For 10-11 years, dives must not exceed 12 m, age 12, the maximum depth is 18 m. At the age of 13, children can access elearning for the Open Water course.

  • Prerequisite: a minimum age of 10 years and the medical questionnaire

  • Duration: 3 half days

  • Proceedings: the course consists of 3 parts, a theoretical part with reading your manual, knowledge reviews and a final exam, practice in environment of a set of exercises of diving, then 4 dives in the sea to implement techniques and discover the marine life of the reef on the Leeward side.   • Supervision: PADI instructor

 

-Junior Advanced Open Water(12-14 years): the younger divers can continue the adventure and develop their technique with the Advanced Open Water.  

1 -Junior open Water Diver course of 10 to 11 years old must complete 3 adventure to become Junior Adventure Diver.

2 -The Junior Open Water diver from 12 to 14 years must complete 3 adventure dives to become 5 adventure dives or Junior Adventure Diver and Junior Advanced Open Water level.

 

- teaJunior Rescue Diver(12-14 years):

The young divers face challenges that they learn to master in the Rescue Diver course.

  • Prerequisite: be PADI Junior Advanced (or equivalent degree), have completed a diploma of first aid and CPR for less than 2 years, a minimum age of 12 years and complete the medical questionnaire

  • Duration: 3 days

  • Proceedings: the course has 3 parts, a theoretical part with reading your manual, knowledge reviews and a final examination. The parties in protected and natural environment where we will put into practice teaching scenarios: (included in our rate)

  • Rescue Diver Kit

  • Equipment: Pocket mask

  • Supervision: PADI instructor
